Aymeric Bonnemaison (Major General)
A graduate of the Saint-Cyr promotion General Delestraint (1988-1991), Major General Aymeric BONNEMAISON trained at the School of Transmissions before serving as the head of an aeromobile section in the 4th Helicopter Regiment of Command and Maneuver (4e RHCM).
Promoted to captain in 1995, he joined the Intelligence Brigade (BR) within the 54th Transmissions Regiment (54e RT), where he successively served as deputy officer and then commanding officer of the 2nd Electronic Reconnaissance and Combat Company (2e CRECA), developing the first light electronic support patrols. He was regularly deployed on external operations in the Balkans (UNPROFOR, IFOR, SFOR, KFOR), holding positions as an air guidance team leader and later as the head of tactical intelligence units.
In 2000, he was assigned to the Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan schools and took command of a company of officer cadets at the Military Interarms School (EMIA). Promoted to lieutenant colonel in 2001, he graduated from the Joint Defense College (CID, now the War School) in 2004.
That same year, he returned to the BR and took on the role of head of the operations and training office of the 44th Transmissions Regiment (44e RT) in Mutzig, before being promoted to lieutenant colonel in 2005. During this period, he was deployed to Afghanistan as an intelligence advisor to the French Representative (REPFRANCE/PAMIR/ISAF), and later to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, where he commanded the multi-sensor search sub-group (SGRM) during Operation Licorne.
In 2006, he joined the NATO Strategic Operations Command Headquarters (J2/ACO/SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium, where he was appointed as an intelligence expert in the planning team.
Commanding the 54th RT in 2009, he ensured the operational preparation of his companies engaged in Afghanistan, Lebanon, and the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. He was promoted to colonel in 2010.
From 2011 to 2016, he joined the Army Staff (EMAT) and then the Armed Forces Staff (EMA), where he distinguished himself in the area of future planning, particularly as the operational coherence officer responsible for large intelligence sensor programs (C4ISR).
In 2016, he joined the Ministry of Defense to command an operational cyber defense service, before being promoted to brigadier general in 2020.
Since September 1, 2022, he has been appointed as the general officer commanding the state’s cyber defense at the Armed Forces Headquarters.

General BONNEMAISON is married and a father of five children. He is also the author of several articles and co-author of the book Attention Cyber! Vers le combat cyber-électronique, published in 2013.
