Les Entretiens de Mumbai

The first ‘Entretiens de Mumbai’ will take place on Friday October 18, 2024 at the Royal Opera House, the first opera house built in Mumbai in 1909 and inaugurated by King George VI, an emblematic place in the old city, later taken over by Maharajah Vikramsinghji Bhojraji of the Gondal.

The theme is forward-looking:

“Mumbai 2047”

Or the transformation of India’s major city into a global metropolis in the run-up to the 100th anniversary of Indian independence.

There’s no need to ‘pitch’ India. And Mumbai in particular. The stakes are immense. The spatial transformation of urban development is impressive. There are so many opportunities to support Mumbai’s growth.

Registration is now closed. They were filled in less than a day. The programme will be announced on 30 September 2024.

These first ‘Entretiens de Mumbai’ will be an unforgettable moment.

They embody the desire for inter-cultural dialogue that is the aim of ‘Les Entretiens’. Between the culture of Western civilisation and the culture of Indian civilisation.

Their richness will leave a lasting impression. This is due to the commitment of the teams who are working tirelessly to make this event a success. I’d like to thank them all, especially Florence Verzelen, member of the Entretiens Strategic Committee, and Sumeet Anand, until recently President of the French-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Indian French Foundation. Together they co-chair the organising committee of the ‘Entretiens de Mumbai’ with great efficiency. I would also like to thank the French and Indian diplomatic representations for their constant support and involvement.

Finally, I would like to thank all those who have already confirmed that they will be attending and speaking at this event.

Mumbai now joins New York and Dubai/Abu Dhabi as the third regular event in the global network supported by ‘Les Entretiens’.
